High School
Our Middle School and High School offer a unique combination of a rigorous academic program, pervasive Christian emphasis, outstanding co-curricular programs in Athletics and Performing Arts, and a caring atmosphere in which each student is known and nurtured.
History - Hillcrest Christian School was established in 1976 by dedicated members of Hillcrest Christian Church. A Junior High School program was started in September 1983 by adding 7th and 8th grade, with 6th grade added later to form the current Middle School. The high school grades were added in the mid-1990’s and our first High School Commencement Ceremony was held in June 2000.
Academic Program – Fully accredited by the Association of Christian Schools International (ACSI), and the Western Association of Schools and Colleges (WASC), the school seeks to provide a high quality, college preparatory education from a Biblical perspective. The middle school focuses on a traditional core curriculum of courses including Bible, visual or performing arts, and physical education. The high school offers a more challenging course of study that includes five Advanced Placement classes along with a variety of elective courses. High school courses are granted “UC approval” and thus accepted by the University of California system, the CSU system, and private universities and colleges.
Christian Emphasis – Bible classes for all grade levels, weekly chapels, missions and service opportunities, chapel worship teams, and student prayer groups are all provided to strengthen students’ relationship with God through Jesus Christ. The school seeks to integrate Biblical truths in every subject area and throughout every program in our school.
Co-Curricular Programs – The school is a member of the California Interscholastic Federation (CIF) and offers a variety of sports teams for boys and girls. Hillcrest teams have been highly competitive, reaching the CIF finals in several sports. The performing arts program offers students opportunities to glorify God through their talents in vocal performance and theater arts. International travel opportunities are part of the High School Choir program as well as participation in elite invitational choir festivals and competitions. An after-school Performing Arts Academy offers students further opportunities to develop their talents and interests in musical instruments and dance.
It is our desire to partner with parents in the education of their children. We invite you to become a part of the Hillcrest family.
