The cost is determined annually for a lunch ticket
which includes an entree, milk, and cookie or
chips. Books of tickets are available at an established
price. Meals may be purchased on a day-to-day
basis including a la carte items.
STUDENT STORE - The student store is open during
snack time, lunch, and after school. A variety
of snacks and cold drinks are available to students.
Other items that can be purchased at the Student
Store include school supplies, P.E. clothes,
uniform shirts, sweatshirts, school jackets,
and school spirit items.
LIBRARY— School
library services are available every school
day. Media and internet services are provided
as well as a computerized card catalog and
check out system. The library remains open
after school until 4:30 p.m.
MUSIC ACADEMY—The
Music Academy offers students an after school
music program. Classes and private lessons
are available in piano, guitar, drums, violin,
trumpet, clarinet, saxophone, flute, trombone,
and voice. In addition we have a beginning
band class for elementary, middle school and
high school levels. In the fall of 2005 we
launched a select elementary choir that will
perform in concerts as well as participate
in the ACSI festivals. Our Music Academy is
a fabulous training ground for future musicians.
AFTER SCHOOL SPORTS -
Hillcrest has developed a popular sports program
for students in all grade levels. Practices and
games are conducted under the supervision of
Hillcrest staff members. A separate registration
fee is required for participation.
Grades K-3 - Students compete in co-ed basketball
and soccer. Everyone who signs up gets to play.
All
games and practices are held on campus.
Grades 4-5 - Students compete in co-ed basketball
and soccer. Everyone who signs up gets to play.
All
games and practices are held on campus.
Grades 6-8 - Boys’ sports include flag
football, basketball, and baseball. Girls’ sports
include basketball,
softball, volleyball, and spirit squad. Each
of these teams participate in their respective
divisions of the V.C.A.L. (Valley Christian Athletic
League) against other local private schools.
Depending upon the number of players registering
for a given team, it may be
necessary to conduct tryouts.
Grades 9-12 - The school is a member of
the Heritage League, governed by the California
Interscholastic Federation (CIF), for high school
sports. Boys’ sports
include eight-man tackle football,
soccer, basketball, baseball, volleyball, and
golf. Girls’ sports include volleyball,
soccer,
basketball, softball, and cheerleading. Soccer
is a co-ed sport.
